Any resident of Arizona, who is NOT affiliated
with the Arizona Health Services Center or the University of Arizona
and is not an employee of UMC, is eligible for the AHSL Community
Card.
AHSL Community Cards entitle holders to valuable services and special
discounts:
- Reduced prices for Loansome
Doc* requests filled at AHSL. Card holders pay $11 instead
of the $15 regular price for each filled item.
- Onsite borrowing privileges for up to 5 AHSL books at one
time.
- AHSL books mailed directly to you at the reduced price of
$11 per item.
Health care professionals (physicians, nurses, physical therapists, etc.)
receive additional benefits to those above:
- Access to AHSL 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
- Onsite borrowing privileges—unlimited number of books
at a time.
- Use of the Library Computer Lab.
- Possession of Arizona Drivers License or other proof of Arizona residency.
Health care professionals must show proof of licensure, certification,
etc.
- Visit the AHSL Loan Services Desk to register or submit the online
registration form.
- Use Loansome
Doc* to submit document delivery requests.
- Pay $60 per year. (A Corporate Card is also available at $500.00 per
year, which allows up to 10 individual users). Payments are non-refundable.
AHSL Community Cards must be renewed on an annual basis. Lost AHSL cards
will be replaced for a cost of $10.00.
Loansome
Doc is the fee-based document delivery service of the National Library
of Medicine. Anyone may register to use Loansome Doc. When you sign up
you will be asked to select an "Ordering Library". If you choose
the Arizona Health Sciences as your ordering library AND have purchased
an AHSL Community Card, you qualify for a reduced rate for each Loansome
Doc request you submit.
