The Arizona Health Sciences Library
(AHSL) is a resource library within the National Library
of Medicine's National Network of Libraries of Medicine,
and as such, is committed to sharing its resources to provide
all U.S. health care professionals access to biomedical
information as well as improving the public's access to
health-related information.
To order article copies from AHSL,
use Loansome
Doc the fee-based document delivery service of the National
Library of Medicine. Loansome Doc requires that you first
go through a simple registration
process. As part of registration you will be asked to
select a supplying library, that
is, the library through which your requests will be processed.
You may select AHSL as your supplying library
if you agree to accept the following terms and conditions:

The table below shows the regular
and additional fees for an article copy for a Loansome Doc
user if it is filled in the AHSL collection or if the request
is referred on to another library. When you order an article,
you must decide whether you want to have your request forwarded
to another library if AHSL cannot fill it or to have the
request cancelled at that point. To determine if a journal
is in the AHSL collection, you may browse the journal holdings
in our library
catalog (ALOE).
There is a special discounted rate
for Loansome Doc users who register for an AHS Library Card
and pay the annual fee of $60.00. |

| AHSL will deliver your articles by mail, fax or Internet
posting (a PDF document is posted on the web and you are emailed
the URL where you can view and print). Turnaround time from
receipt to shipment is 24 to 48 hours if the material is in
the AHSL collection. Rush service is also available for an
additional $10.00 per item. |

Prior to filling the first request, individuals are required
to provide AHSL with a Visa or MasterCard credit card number
for payment. You are advised to provide this sensitive information
by fax or phone, as AHSL has no secure email server at this
time. All future requests will be charged against this credit
card account and you will be sent a monthly statement of
transactions and charges. Libraries and nonprofit organizations
will be sent monthly invoices.
If you agree to abide by the above terms and conditions,
please call or email the Document
Delivery/Interlirary Loan office and you will be given the
AHSL Library Identifier to complete your Loansome Doc registration.

Some items cannot be ordered through Loansome Doc. You may
also fax your requests to (520) 626-2831 or send email.
Due to the increased processing time required by requests
received via mail, email or fax, turnaround time is slower.
There is also an additional $5.00 processing charge per request,
except in cases where the item cannot be ordered via Loansome
Doc.
